The Language Resource Center at Columbia University (LRC) is happy to host the Fulbright FLTA Summer Orientation Program at Columbia University, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The LRC welcomes the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the Fulbright FLTAs arriving in the U.S. to begin their programs in the fall 2009 term.
The orientation program will take place over a five-day period from July 27, 2009 to July 31, 2009 at Columbia University’s Morningside Campus in New York City.
The LRC makes use of Columbia’s unique location in New York City, its exclusive access to exceptional library collections and material resources, and its longstanding experience and expertise in second language acquisition to develop an orientation program that will introduce the participants to the best practices in the field of language teaching and learning as well as provide them with an introduction to US academic culture and with a general cross-cultural orientation while keeping the focus on Fulbright goals and traditions.
