DESCRIPTION:Please save the date for the upcoming “Multimodality Befriends L2 Writing” event with an invited guest talk featuring Dr. Ana Oskoz of The University of Maryland Baltimore County. The topic of Dr. Oskoz’s talk will delve into how the integration of digital multimodal composing in second language (L2) and heritage language (HL) classrooms have expanded our notion of writing–shifting from a focus on the written mode to include other modes of expression (e.g.\, visual\, textual\, or aural). Despite the increasing use of L2 multimodal learning tasks combining different semiotic resources to generate meaning\, instructors tend to focus exclusively on language development rather than on all the components of multimodal texts.
