The AL&TESOL Language & Technology Research Group at Teachers College, Columbia University presents the 2024 Language and Technology Open House. Join them to learn about the Language and Technology in Applied Linguistics and TESOL and explore research into friendly and pedagogical artificial general intelligence (AGI) in applied linguistics.

The event will feature the following workshop sessions:
Workshop A: Corpus Linguistics Workshop: We will explore ways to analyze linguistic patterns in a large set of texts containing authentic written and spoken data (Software used: AntConc, LexTutor, & CHILDES)
Workshop B: Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Python Workshop: After a brief introduction to Python programming, we will explore different ways to utilize and analyze text data using Python (POS tagging, Lemmatizing, Parsing, Wordcloud, Frequency Distribution, Statistical Models, & Language Models)
